Girl Scout 42/43 Flag Service Project (Tentative Date) (19 May 2012)

Troops 42 and 43 Scouts and families are welcome to participate in a Flag Service Project. We will go to the Anderson Memorial Park to place flags on Veteran's graves. Please join us as the families who participated last year had a memorable afternoon.

The address of Anderson Memorial Park is 6805 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Anderson IN 46013–9731. After the service project is complete (plan for about two hours) please join us for a late lunch at a China Buffet in Anderson. Each family will be responsible for the cost of their meal.

Adoptive Family Camp at Flatrock River YMCA Camp.

Come and join other adoptive families at Adoptive Families Camp at Flatrock Y Camp on August 11-12. (www.flatrockymca.org)

The cost is $65.40 for each person attending (over the age of 6). Under 6 is free. The cost covers staying overnight at the camp and 4 meals (from Saturday lunch through Sunday lunch). Flatrock will provide a counselor to help with a variety of activities which could include: canoeing, archery, fishing, nature hike, campfire with s’mores, swimming, arts & crafts, horseback riding, and an Alpine tower. The camp has air conditioned cabins with bunk beds and bathrooms with hot showers. All activities are close by and will be age appropriate. Meals are served buffet style in the main building. No formal adoptive-focused activities will be planned but families can spend relaxing time together while kids are playing and enjoying the outdoors.

Check in is after breakfast on Saturday around 10:00. Check out is after lunch on Sunday by 3:00.
