FCC-IN Relief & Charitable Donation Contacts*:
On Friday September 19th, The Chinese American Museum of Chicago suffered a devastating fire. Most of the museum's permanent collections, including 23 historic dioramas, antique embroidered wall hangings and a Peking Opera costume, were lost in the blaze. Most of the items in the museum came from local residents, whose ancestors brought the objects when they immigrated to the U.S. Some items came from Indiana families; some from FCC IN families. This museum has opened their hearts to our organization and to Troop 42 many times in the past. To find out how to make a donation, please

To donate to earthquake relief, you may want to visit the web sites
of the following tried and true agencies:
Half the Sky
and
Our Chinese Daughters Foundation
Both organizations have staff in China; and they know how best to
assist the orphanages in China at this time. In the days, weeks,
and months to come, orphanages in China will be overwhelmed by the
parentless children created by this disaster. (Note: Ford Motor Company
is offering matching funds to their employees who donate through
Half the Sky.)
